이 엘로드 스틱은 공간을 해석하는 도구로서의 가능성을 탐구하기 위해 제작된 NASCHENKA의 아카이브 작품이다.
전통 풍수지리의 상징 체계인 십장생(十長生)을 모티프로 하여, 공간의 흐름과 균형을 인식하는 행위 자체를 하나의 오브제로 구현하고자 했다.
그러나 실제 사용 과정에서, 외부 환경—특히 바람과 공기 흐름—에 따라 균형이 쉽게 흔들리는 구조적 한계가 확인되었다. 이로 인해 도구로서의 기능적 안정성은 NASCHENKA의 기준에 도달하지 못했다.
이에 본 작품은 상용화 또는 기능 도구로의 완성을 진행하지 않고, 실험과 판단의 기록으로서 아카이브에만 보존한다.
이 엘로드는 완성품이 아니라, 어디까지가 ‘의미 있는 시도’였는지를 남기는 NASCHENKA의 정직한 기록이다.
This L-Rod dowsing stick was created as an exploratory object to examine the possibility of interpreting space through form and symbolism.
Inspired by Sipjangsaeng, the traditional Korean symbols of longevity, the piece sought to materialize awareness of balance and spatial flow as a physical tool.
During actual use, however, structural limitations became evident— particularly sensitivity to wind and air movement, which caused instability in balance. As a result, the piece did not meet NASCHENKA’s standards for functional reliability.
Accordingly, the project was not pursued as a functional or commercial tool and is preserved solely as an archival record of experimentation.
This L-Rod is not presented as a finished instrument, but as an honest documentation of where exploration was meaningful—and where it was not.
